"Give thanks to Him who alone does mighty miracles”
At the beggining of each year ,we have expectations,we get encouragements from people,wishes and so on.The one we got comes from the Lord,”He alone does mighty miracles.”
Let us share with you why we expect more mircales-it is all because He is that kind of God and because He already has done so many for us .
In the last weeks-these are only few:
• A short camp of 42 teens-high school teens. New year’s eve it is a big event ,even bigger than Christmas in Romania,and we spend the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 with them.Wonderful group,great time ,powerful bible study given by Vio to them on „keeping promises” . One of the sweet parts of this ,it was to see each of them bringing something,so it happened like on apostles days „everything together” . One of the girls brought over a bag of about 20 kgs of potatoes,few brought over cakes made by themselves ,or pickles and so on,so we were not short of anything while there.
• Since mission is in our heart,we live it ,we teach it and we help others practicing.In the last year Vio has done at his bible clubs ,beside the rest of lessons,a focus on Turkey and encouraged kids to give for a couple of missionaries we know in Turkey,working among kids and teens . You would be surprised –as we were –to learn that from few weekly bible clubs only,kids raised within a year a little over 1,500 euros for the missionaries in Turkey.There is hope in Romania for a generation that will learn giving and mission.Please keep praying for this!
• And it was Christmas-Dany’s and
Andrew’s first.It was just touching to see their reactions when they got their gifts.Real joy,sincere excitement..we were excited too,because we could not ever afford to buy them Christmas gifts without your help.
• Shoe boxes this year ,was just one of the december miracles-for months we knew we will not get any shoe boxes and then all of the sudden we get a phone call „ we changed our mind about your area and we liked your previous Christmas projects” ,so we got about 7,500 shoe boxes to distribute. Beside regular things we would do for the Shoe boxes project,this year we invvolved authorities in distribution,we even
gave the mayors from Campulung and other villages, the honor to give the boxes to the kids and we were just „helping” .This helped a great deal. It helped the mayors to know a little bit of our work,and also it developed relationships,plus opened doors( in picture the Andrei Calin-mayor of Campulung, Naftanaila Ionel-mayor of Albesti ).
• Regarding Dany’s adoption we just let Him alone do the miracle,but of course alone in power with the help of your prayers.We have been through a lot in the last weeks,but it is not about us after all it is about Dany’s safety. To give you a short history-a lady from deparment of Child Protection in our area refuses to help Dany be adapted by us ,she called Dany’s dad,asked him to come over and she gave all kind of solutions,kids to be moved to another family,taken to an
orphanage in Constanta and from there it is up to Dany’s dad to take Andrew out and leave Dany in ,and so on.None of her solutions were for the good of Dany . Department of Child Protection in Constanta and other lawyers agreed what she has done is wrong and illegal,and our only solution is to go higher .There are 2 higher people we wanted to explain the situation and laugh or cry,both got arrested within a week,either for stealing money from the guvernment or working with comunist party before revolution-which means should not have political power in our days.Now we are waiting to find another person in power from Bucharest and see if he is willing to help.However ,in spite of the fact that what we want is legal and for good of all,we expect more problems ,but pray we will stay strong and God will do one more time a miracle.
